Rockford is a nationally renowned, rare half Accoyo medium silver grey who began settling females in 2001. He is a truly stunning male, with a regal presence and good bone. His conformation is excellent and his fleece ---- ahhhh, his fleece! It is exceptional, even more remarkable for a silver grey: very dense and yet fine and crimpy, with a defined lock structure. He has a strong, handsome head and ideal temperament.

He has won ribbons all over the country, in every show he has been in, but now he is enjoying his retirement from the show circuit.

Over 120 Rockford offspring have been born, and they are fabulous! Almost all of these beautiful youngsters are shades of silver or rose grey, or black. His grey color genetics have proven to be quite potent, as is his ability to pass along his remarkable phenotype to his cria. Many of them have gone on to become Champions and Ribbon winners in their own right. In the 2004-2006 show seasons, his beautiful sons and daughters have distinguished themselves nationally and regionally, over extremely tough competition, with the following placings (that we know of!):
  • 14 Championships
  • 12 Reserve Championships
  • 54 First Places
  • 46 Second Places
  • 28 Third Places
So far, in 2007 shows, his incredible genetics continue to produce winners, as his youngsters' known placings include:
  • 7 Championships
  • 3 Reserve Championships
  • 17 First Places
  • 15 Second Places
  • 14 Third Places
We are continuously pleased with their quality, and invite you to view many of them by clicking the link above. The proof is truly in the progeny!

Rockford is no longer available for outside breedings at Peaceful Valley Alpacas. If his book should open in the future at another location, we will post a notice on this website. A heartfelt thank you to all of our clients over the years, who now have these coveted genetics in their herd.
