After Hours is our impressive true black herdsire, who began settling females in Spring of 2006. He is a wonderful combination of elite fleece qualities from the Caligula bloodline, and generations of color. He is a genetic powerhouse and fits in perfectly with our breeding program at Peaceful Valley Alpacas. His lineage has great depth of color. His sire, Xanadu 'Round Midnight (son of the well known Accoyo Peruvian Presidio, who is a Caligula son; and a beautiful maroon dam, whose parents are both silver grey) is a 4X color Champion. The dam of After Hours is an extremely fine fleeced silver grey, who comes from a solely grey lineage, and has already produced several blue ribbon cria.

We were immediately impressed with After Hours, and even more taken with him as we researched his show stats and learned more about him. He is a strong, robust, beautifully conformed male with an upright carriage, handsome Presidio head and wonderful temperament. His exquisite, carpetlike true black fleece is exhibiting tiny patches of grey, which serves to encourage our hopes for strong grey genetics. He has a dense topknot and full coverage. He is a breathtaking sight standing in the field.

After Hours has a remarkable show record, and top judges from all over the world have agreed on his excellent phenotype.

His first sixteen cria are on the ground, and we are extremely pleased with the consistent quality, conformation, type and temperaments of his offspring. He is regularly producing black or grey when bred to females with strong black and grey pedigrees. With fawns and browns he is likely to produce youngsters in the same color range. color genetics are often surprising, but one thing we can say is that his kids are beautiful, and we eagerly wait to see how they mature.

We feel that After Hours brings a complete package of excellent conformation, fleece quality, and genetic diversity to breeders interested in an elite black herdsire that carries the strong potential to produce grey. His service fee is $2,500, with multiple breeding discount for 2 or more females. You may use this discount for any combination of our herdsires. We invite you to find out more about him, and encourage you to schedule your breedings soon, as his book is filling very quickly, and his breedings this year will be extremely limited.
